Troy Berry has been involved in the Springfield theater community for over 35 years. He has been a part of over 60 productions, both on and off stage. On stage, it all began back in junior high when he was a townsperson in a production of Huck Finn. A few more school productions later, he was cast as a singing teenager in Bye Bye Birdie at the Springfield Arts Council's Summer Arts Festival. He was hooked. He was a part of many choruses and townsfolks, until one day, he was given a shot at a more involved role. He was cast as Action in a production of West Side Story at the park, where he got to sing his first solo lines in "Gee, Officer Krupke". From there he was cast in many supporting and leading roles. Some of his favorites include King Arthur (Spamalot), Lawrence Jameson (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Fagin (Oliver, twice. Once in the park, and once at the Kuss Auditorium), Dan Goodman (Next to Normal), Lord Farquaad (Shrek, the Musical), and Cinderella's Prince/Wolf (Into the Woods) among many, many others. Troy has also directed three productions locally, most recently co-directing a production of Something Rotten for the Clark State Theater Arts program. Troy is thrilled to be a part of this production team and can't wait to see it up on a stage!
